Churches and Chapels in our area
|
The parish which St Chrysostom's serves is uniquely varied in South Manchester.
Consequently there are a wide variety of different Christian churches and fellowships in the area.
Some of the churches serve large areas of the North West of England, others are based in the
local community.
A number of the student halls of residence in the parish also have chapels.
As well as western Christian churches there is a beautiful new Russian Orthodox Church
of the Pokrov in Clarence Road.
The oldest Armenian church in England is on the boundary of the parish.
Not far from St Chrysostom's School there is a Ukranian Orthodox Church.
In recent years Orthodox Christians also had a small chapel in St Chrysostom's.
Our friendship with the Orthodox has led us to support the local branch of the
Fellowship of St Alban and St Sergius. (See links page).
