Marriage and blessings at St Chrysostom's
|
The splendid building, the lovely organ and the well kept grounds help make a
wedding at St Chrysostom's a special day for the couple and their family.
The number of weddings held at St Chrysostom's is increasing each year.
Each wedding is different, and each is special. Some of the weddings are quiet, small
celebrations with just a few people in the Anson chapel, others are larger celebrations, filling the
main church.
Differing cultures and backgrounds celebrate in different ways. Some weddings are traditional
English weddings, others follow traditions from other parts of the world.
The priest taking the wedding meets with the couple and encourages them
to prepare carefully for their marriage. Couples are encouraged to have a
careful record of the day, through video, photograph, printed order of
service etc.
Anyone who would like to have their wedding celebrated at St
Chrysostom's, whether or not they are members of the church, are
welcome to get in touch with the parish priest to discuss the possibility and
opportunities.
For any enquiries about weddings or blessings please contact the Church (see our contacts page).

At St Chrysostom's the church aims to
help the couple begin their married life
with joy, creativity, beauty and
enthusiasm, and, of course, with God's
blessing.
Anniversaries are important, and there are opportunities for couples to come to church to celebrate special wedding
anniversaries, such as silver or golden weddings. The clergy will also be pleased to help with giving advice for ceremonies at
home.
Blessings:
At St Chrysostom's we wish to encourage all who have significant relationships to seek the blessing and prayers of the church in
their relationships. Our Church Council recognises that in the modern world relationships can take many different forms, and
the Church Council welcomes all who seek the pastoral or liturgical ministry of the church in these relationships.
