We have a local group (a 'Walsingham Cell') of people who are inspired by the Shrine
at Walsingham, and who wish to support the work of the shrine.
The cell is open to anyone. Cell members undertake to be faithful members of the Church,
to pray regularly for the Shrine at Walsingham and to say the Angelus (or a decade of
the rosary) each day.
The cell also acts as a focus for spirituality and prayer in
St Chrysostom's Church.
There is a small shrine in the Anson Chapel at St Chrysostom's
to remind everyone of the shrine at Walsingham. Votive candles can be lit there
on the screen behind the statue of Our Lady of Walsingham.
Each year we have a parish pilgrimage to Walsingham, usually for the feast
of the Assumption of Our Lady, in August. The pilgrimage is open to everyone,
whether or not they are cell members. Our pilgrimage is a joint one, with friends from
St Peter's, Oughtrington.

Our 2007 pilgrims. Our ages ranged from 17 months to over 90 years!
The pilgrimage at Assumptiontide 2007 included a candlelit procession,
concelebrated Mass for the Assumption, outings to Norwich, South
Creake, and Wells.
We also had lots of fun and laughter.
The cell meets at least four times a year, and activities include visits to places of interest in the North West,
worship and fellowship together, a visiting speaker etc. Mass is said regularly at St Chrysostom's
for the Shrine at Walsingham.
The cell also raises money for FARA a charity for disadvantaged children in Romania.
Fr Ian Gomersall is the Cell Superior, and Chris Hartley is the Cell secretary. Membership is £10 per year, and members
receive the Quarterly Review from Walsingham.
Everyone is welcome to join, whether or not they have been to Walsingham. For more details please contact Chris Hartley.
